The collision between two Cessna airplanes filled with skydivers occurred just as several of them were in position to jump, NBC News reports. Those inside the planes managed to leap out shortly after and all landed safely.
The pilot of one plane survived the fall by using an emergency parachute. The other pilot managed to safely land his plane, although it was heavily damaged.
The footage from the cameras mounted on skydivers’ heads shows the two planes colliding and flinging two skydivers, who were getting ready to jump, into the air. You can also see the skydivers frantically exiting the play with burning debris flying around them.
The passengers and pilots were professionally trained, but nevertheless, all were extremely lucky to survive the accident.
“The outcome for us was as good as it could be,” Mike Robinson, one of the passengers, told NBC News.
