Genghis Khan, quite a sight to behold
Just over thirty miles east of the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator the old Emperor, rides again. Sat atop his horse, surveying his dominion (which was after his death to become the largest contiguous empire in history) a huge 131 feet statue dominates the steppes of Mongolia.
Inside the two-story base of the statue, visitors can see a replica of Khan’s legendary golden whip, sample traditional cuisine of horse meat and potatoes, or play billiards.
The Chinggis Khan Statue is currently the biggest equestrian statue in the world.
